If you want to know the ins and outs of using a Carb Cap, you have come to the right place. In this article, we will discuss what a carb cap is, why you should use one, and how to use one. To dive a little deeper, we will go over different types and different materials carb caps can be made from. After reading, you should be able to determine which carb cap is best for you and what you should have in your own personal collection!

What Is a Carb Cap?

A Carb Cap is a smoking accessory used when dabbing. A Carb Cap can be most commonly made from glass or quartz and is used to cap your dab banger to maximize vapor production, air flow and distribute heat evenly when you inhale.

Why Should I Use Carb Cap?

Carb Caps have added benefits when used. You should use a Carb Cap to maximize the vaporization of your concentrate when dabbing. Carb Caps can also benefit you by:

  • Enhanced vaporization: The process of concentrate vaporizing to its fullest potential.
  • Heat retention: Refers to how long the nail can hold heat over time.
  • Low-temp dabbing: Dabbing at a low temperature, between 400-450
  • Airflow control: Controlling the flow and direction of the air circulating
  • Concentrate conservation: Concentrate doesn't pool up, and it gets utilized 100%

Which Material Is Used to Make Carb Caps?

Carb Caps can come in multiple different materials. At the end of the day, it's totally about personal preference, but there are differences between all of these. Glass and Quartz are more commonly used. Silicone is a super cheap option, although not as durable. Titanium and Ceramic Carb Caps typically pair with a Titanium nail or Ceramic nail.

  • Glass Carb Cap: Made from borosilicate glass, common, cheap.
  • Titanium Carb Cap: Made from quality grade 2 titanium, durable, and can take heat.
  • Quartz Carb Cap: Made from high-quality quartz, doesn't break easily, better than glass.
  • Ceramic Carb Cap: Made from ceramic, easy to clean.
  • Silicone Carb Cap: Made from silicone, rubbery material, easy to clean.

Types of Carb Caps?

Carb Caps come in a variety of sizes and styles, each with their own look and purpose. Whether it be the size, material, or direction of airflow, we have you covered.

  • Directional Carb Caps. Create a proper seal and can control airflow when rotated or swiveled.
  • Bubble Carb Caps. Due to their design, max control over airflow with a large stem and ball and socket look.
  • Spinner Carb Caps. Spinner caps have multiple channels for airflow, creating a circular spin of your concentrates and inserts.
  • Stamp Carb Cap. Easily paired with flat-top bangers, a stamp cap sits directly on top for an even seal and maximizes vapor production.
  • Topper Carb Caps. Sit inside your banger; they have an angled airflow design. Very similar to the function of directional carb caps.
  • Disc Carb Caps. Flat Carb Caps, very similar to a stamp carb cap, sits flat on top of your banger for an even seal and vapor production.

How To Dab Properly With a Carb Cap?

Dabbing with a Carb Cap is easy! If you follow these simple instructions, clean, and properly care for your carb cap, you can be sure you will be dabbing correctly and for a long time.

  1. First, you want to heat your banger to a proper temperature.
  2. Next, prepare to concentrate on your dab tool.
  3. When your nail reaches the desired temperature, place your dab into the heated banger.
  4. Grab your carb cap and place the carb cap on the banger.
  5. Inhale and enjoy the sweet smoke.

Afterward, be sure to clean your banger and carb cap with iso alcohol for less wear and tear and to make your accessories last.

Things To Consider Buying Cap Cap

When it comes to buying a carb cap, there are a few things to take into consideration before you purchase. Style and size all factor into how good of a dabbing experience you are going to have.

Cost: Consider the cost of different carb caps; quality does make a difference in your smoking experience.

Material: Decide which kind of carb cap you want, glass, silicone, or quartz. What fits you and your aesthetic best.

Style: There are tons of styles, from bubbles to directional carb caps, and they all function differently. Choose what best fits you and your dab preferences.

Size: Size matters. You want to make sure you have the correct size carb cap to fit your dab nail. This ensures that you get a proper seal and a full, flavorful dab.
